VMI’s Operation Independence is Helping U.S. Military Veterans with their Mobility Van Purchase

Vantage Mobility International (VMI), a leader in the manufacture and distribution of wheelchair accessible full-size vans and wheelchair minivan conversions, announced today that the company’s Operation Independence program is working to help U.S. military veterans purchase a mobility van.  The national program is designed to help U.S. Veterans better understand the options available to them when purchasing a mobility vehicle with the support of Federal Grant 21-4502.

“We’re excited that Operation Independence has been so successful in increasing awareness of federal grants available to military veterans,” said Doug Eaton, president of VMI.  “We kicked off this national program on Veterans Day in 2011, with our Select Dealer Network and support from the PVA.  Since starting the program, our sales are strong and we’re exceeding our initial goals. This means more vets, and their families, really understand all of the options to buy the vehicle that best meets their mobility needs.”

In addition to generating awareness of Federal Grant 21-4502, which is available to disabled U.S. vets and was recently increased from $11,500 to $18,900, VMI is offering an additional $1,000 coupon that can be used as cash back from the manufacturer or applied toward a down payment.

Stephen Willoby, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, recently purchased a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew from VMI using the Operation Independence rebate program. “I was familiar with Federal Grant 21-4502 walking into the doors at VMI’s Arizona Mobility Products in Phoenix,” said Willoby.  “But, the team there did a great job navigating me through the entire process.  They walked me through each step I needed to take with the VA, which really expedited financing my new Grand Caravan.”

Among the vehicles available to veterans using their federal grants, is the 25th Anniversary Honda Odyssey with VMI Northstar conversion, which features numerous interior and exterior custom upgrades.  The van will be displayed as part of VMI’s exhibit during the PVA Games to be held in Richmond, Va., June 25–30, 2012.
