Phoenix, Ariz – Sept. 5, 2013 – Vantage Mobility International (VMI), a leader in the manufacture and distribution of wheelcahir accessible vehicles, recently participated in the Paralyzed Veterans of America’s (PVA) Summit 2013 and Expo, held at Renaissance Sea World in Orlando, Fla., from Aug. 27-29. The Summit brought together renowned leaders from medicine, health care, policy and government to explore and implement holistic strategies to strengthen the continuim of care for patients. The result was a new wave of interest in the Operation Independence, Star Spangled Salute veteran van giveaway.
“VMI is a committed advocate of our disabled military veterans,” said Monique McGivney, director of corporate communication at VMI. “As part of our participation at this year’s PVA Summit, we met with a number of key VA representatives from hospitals located across the country to discuss how VMI mobility vans allow disabled veterans to regain their independence. Particularly, they were extremely enthusiastic about our Star Spangled Salute contest. The VA reps knew of several patients they worked with who would benefit from winning a Toyota Sienna with VMI’s Access360 In-floor Ramp Conversion.”
The Operation Independence Star Spangled Salute is a national contest to give America’s disabled military veterans the chance to win a 2013 Toyota Sienna SE with VMI’s Access360 In-floor Ramp Conversion. The online contest began in March 2013 and will run through Nov. 10, 2013. The online contest is open to all disabled U.S. Veterans and the winner will be randomly drawn on Veteran’s Day, November 11. The Star Spangled Salute contest is a part of VMI’s Operation Independence program.
“The Dept. of Veterans Affairs has reported that there are close to 3.5 million veterans currently living with a service related disability,” said McGivney. “The Operation Independence Star Spangled Salute program is a great opportunity for these military heroes to win a vehicle that will help them regain their independence. We encourage all of our disabled veterans, or those who know a disabled veteran, to enter the contest and help make a positive impact in their life.”
