“VMI has supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 2002,” said Monique McGivney, director of corporate communication at VMI.  “VMI is more than just a company that builds great mobility products. The MDA annual BBQ dinner is a great way for our team to be involved in our local community and support people with disabilities.”

MDA is the world’s leading nonprofit health organization sponsoring research seeking causes and effective treatments for neuromuscular diseases. MDA maintains a network of 200 specialized clinics across the United States. Most MDA clinics are located in teaching hospitals, and many MDA clinic directors are university medical school professors as well as practicing physicians. MDA clinics are at the forefront of research and treatment methods; some clinics also serve as sites for clinical trials of the latest experimental therapies. Their annual BBQ and Reunion is a chance for families, campers and camp counselors in association with MDA to reunite over baseball, food and fun.

“The Muscular Dystrophy Association has a very mission-rich relationship with VMI and appreciates the many partnership opportunities such as the MDA Muscle Walk and Show of Strength that support the programs and services we provide to our registered families,” said Marilyn Hardy, Healthcare Services Coordinator at MDA. “We look forward to our upcoming MDA family BBQ where VMI employees will share a game of baseball, good food and social time with our families. VMI continues to demonstrate their dedication to our MDA families and commitment to making a difference.”

VMI annually sponsors MDA with $15,000 and countless volunteer hours. To learn more about Muscular Dystrophy Association, visit http://mda.org/. To learn more about Vantage Mobility International, visit www.VantageMobility.com or call 1-800-348 VANS (1-800-348-8267).
