100 Strong for MDA

Over one-hundred VMI employees and family members donated and attended the 2016 MDA Muscle Walk at Tempe Beach Park on March 4, 2016.  The Phoenix MDA walk is the largest event of its kind and brings communities from across the valley together to fight against muscle disease.

Led by VMI’s Christina Fisher, the VMI team raised $13,465 for the cause.  “The dollars raised by the Muscle Walk make a real difference in the lives of people with muscle disease.  They fund state-of-the-art clinics, support groups, and (of course) the MDA summer camp for kids.” said Fisher.

Both VMI and VMI’s Mobility Center sponsored the walk and provided water and support for the event.  Kirk Patten of VMI’s Mobility Center has been attending the event for several years.  “The support from the entire Phoenix community is amazing.  Its great to see so many people supporting such a great cause.”

VMI encourages community involvement for all of its employees.  The MDA walk comes on the tail of VMI’s support of UMOM, a local homeless support and housing facility.
